Crossed Feet Sports Camps is officially kicking off this October with their first camp! This camp will be a mix of fitness, wakeboarding and/or wake surfing. Every day, in addition to time on the water, there will be a sport specific training session and some active recovery!
Where is the camp going to be?
The camp is being held at Maven Wakeboard School in Portugal. The school is located in Central Portugal on the shores of the beautiful Castelo do Bode Lake. Set in a peaceful and natural environment, together with its own private sandy beach and offering over 40 miles of warm, calm water. Maven will offer you the very best conditions for wakeboarding, and wake surfing.
Maven has a fully equipped recreation area with a football table, Playstation and a DVD player with just about every wakeboard movie on the market. It is the ultimate hang out room when you are done riding for the day.
Maven Wakeboard School has a selection of different Nautique boats, and a System 2.0 Cable fully outfitted with obstacles. There is even the option to do slalom ski for those who are interested.
Where will we stay?
There are two options for accommodation:
· Shared accommodation on site.
· Local bed & breakfast or hotel.
What will we eat?
Breakfast and dinner are included in the price of the camp. The food at Maven will exceed your expectations. Meals are high quality, varied and healthy. Different choices are available for lunch.
How many times a day will we wakeboard/wakesurf?
Expect to ride twice a day. For wakeboarders you will have the choice between boat and cable (you can of course ride the cable in your free time too). There will also be one sport specific training session every day and an active recovery/mobility session at the end of each day.
What else will we do during the week?
There are a number of different activities that we can do outside of wakeboarding/wakesurfing:
Stand Up Paddle – whether you want to go for a solo paddle to relax or if you want to organise a group tour or even some SUP yoga.
Adventure Park – The park gives you the opportunity to climb, slide and paintball on the extensive rural grounds in Valados.
Horse Riding – Portugal has a great reputation for horse riding and within the surrounding areas there are many riding schools and equestrian centres.
Surfing – Peniche is located 150km away from Maven and is one of Europe’s top surf breaks. Most famous is Supertubos, regarded by many as one of Europe's best beach breaks, but there are plenty of other barrels to pull into around Peniche.
Team Dinner – We will be organising a big team dinner on the last night followed by some fun games!
How do we get there?
Maven is located just 25km away from the town of Tomar. It is recommended to fly to Lisboa Portela Airport which is around 150km away from Maven. It takes around 1h15 to get there by car.
Car rental is a good choice, airport transfers are also available at an extra cost.
